Beaches and islands
For its specific microclimate and indented coastline covered with forests of holm oak and Aleppo pine, in 1888. Rovinj became health resort in a “protected natural heritage”. In the beginning of the holiday we highly recommend you a night swim in the unique surroundings of the rocky beach Baluota below the church of St. Euphemia, paradise beach Lone Bay in the The forest park Punta Corrente (Golden Cape), family beaches on the St. Andrew’s Island known as the Red Island, and the Austro-Hungarian atmosphere of St. Catherina Island with its 456 plant species.
Palud
The protected park Palud is the only ornithological park in Istria. This specific swampy area hides about 220 bird species. The diversity and richness of bird species, the most important attractions of the reserve, will delight every bird watching lover.
The Lim Channel
In the Lim Channel or how it is called the Lim Fjord, you will see how fish and shellfish are cultivated in farms since Roman times. In this green oasis covered with oaks and ashes embracing the emerald sea, there is the legendary Romuald Cave where they found the oldest remains of prehistoric man in Istria.
