Throughout the year, Rovinj is rich in cultural events, and because of its attractions and curiosities, National Geographic Books has included Rovinj in the book “Destinations of a Lifetime: 225 of the World’s Most Amazing Places”. Festivals, living witnesses, historical reenactment, exhibitions… traditional events that should not be missed.
In April we reccomend you to visit the ETNOFILM-Etnographic Film Festival. In May enjoy the soothing sounds of the Rovinj Spring Jazz Festival and admire the magnificent pictures of the Rovinj Photodays international festival. In June let us take you to the Croatian Summer Salsa Festival where more than three thousand dancers are performing among streets, squares, beaches, ships and also vineyards. During summer season you can take part in a unique experience, the Istria Inspirit – Spacio, reviving stories of the Rovinj tavern (spacio) where the local fishermen and farmers ate and drank, talked adventures and sang bitinade at the end of their hard workday. The historical reenactment includes the visit to the Ecomuseum “House of Batana”, a romantic batana trip, evening entertainment with traditional local cuisine, music program with the Batana folk group.
Connect with the Mediterranean soul at the festival of Mediterranean music Sete Sois Sete Luas, which every July, for the past 24 years, is delighting us.
In August is inevitable the Grisia tour, the most known Rovinj´s street that became an art exhibition itself. For the classical music lovers there is the Summer Festival Rovinj that takes place in religious buildings.
The most expected festivity of the city, by the inhabitants and tourists, is Rovinj´s Night, celebrated with spectacular fireworks at the end of August, while the most solemn day of the year is the 16th of September,our patron Saint Euphemia’s day.
During the summer season you can relax and refresh in the great bars that stretch along the promenade and in the old city streets, enjoying in the performances of local musicians, where fun is guaranteed.
